it’s all about riesling

in a way it‘s all Egon Muellers fault: a 1990 »Scharzhofberg Auslese« wowed young swiss Daniel Vollenweider so much that he just had to found his own estate. so in 1999, with little more than his overwhelming passion, he revived 1 hectare of vineyards in the nearly forgotten »Wolfer Goldgrube«.  today, the estate covers approx. 4 hectare, mostly classified as steep or extremely steep slopes. since much of this land was not subjected to land consolidation, the estate possesses a high percentage of very old, ungrafted riesling vines.

based in the once world famous wine trading town of Traben-Trarbach, the estate is now among the most highly rewarded in the mosel region.
